Social Enterprises Consultation Meetings in the Regions

From November 24 to December 9, 2024, Junior Achievement Georgia, within the framework of the project “Building through Social Entrepreneurship”, held 8 consultation meetings with trainers and graduates of the “Accelerator _ X | Social Entrepreneurship” program in 5 regions of Georgia (Adjara, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, Tbilisi), led by the project coordinator, Mariam Nachkebia, and startup/social enterprise expert, Eka Gegeshidze.

The main topics of the meeting were the announced competition for social enterprise ideas, opportunities for participation and funding sources. Those wishing to participate in the competition presented their ideas and received individual consultations and recommendations to improve their business plans.

The social enterprises selected in the competition will undergo a pre-acceleration stage, where they will receive additional consultations from acceleration experts and business mentors to develop their ideas and present a final business plan. After official registration with the National Agency of Public Registry, the best 15 social enterprises will be funded with 2,000 euros for further implementation of their ideas.

About the project

The project “Building through Social Entrepreneurship” is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented within the framework of the #EU4Youth programme. Its aim is to contribute to the strengthening of civil society in the beneficiary countries, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. At the same time, it will enable young leaders to be active pillars of democracy, in society building and in political dialogue.

The project equips the youth of Georgia, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova with the necessary skills and knowledge to create sustainable social enterprises. In addition, participants will improve their employability and develop a wide range of entrepreneurial competencies, including creativity, perseverance, teamwork and the ability to overcome difficulties in a simple way. The project will contribute to the development of a favorable ecosystem for social enterprises. Young people will have the opportunity to start or join social enterprises and become proactive change makers who engage, mobilize and inspire their peers and have a significant impact on them. Each social enterprise will be mentored by business volunteers or social entrepreneurs, and the most promising enterprises will receive further support, seed funding, visibility, connections, development and growth opportunities.
