We would like to share information about Nana Kupreishvili, the best teacher of entrepreneurship in Georgia in 2024, who has been nominated on behalf of the country for the JA European Teacher of the Year Award , presented by United Parcel Service (UPS) .
Nana’s cooperation with our organization began in 2008, when a 10th grade student participated in the Global Business Ethics Program. His exposure to JA’s values and principles at an early age ignited his interest in entrepreneurship, which had a major impact on shaping his career.
During the last seven years of his work as an entrepreneurship teacher, under his leadership, more than 15 mini-companies were formed, many of which won in such nominations as “Best Product” and “People’s Choice”. Also, in 2018, the Georgian-American International School Progress was named the best entrepreneurial school in Georgia (TES Award).
Nana’s students annually participate in JA international projects, for example “Foodathon” where he and his students successfully tackle the challenges of working in a global space. It is also worth noting that one of his students won a bronze medal at the International Economics Olympiad.
The experience gained from the Junior Achievement programs ensures that NANA students are equipped with entrepreneurial skills that prepare them to compete successfully in a growing and competitive global environment.
Nana’s teaching experience extends beyond the classroom as she often uses experiential learning methods. For example, it organizes an annual exhibition and sale, which allows students to gain real-world experience and develop practical skills necessary for an entrepreneur.
This well-deserved nomination emphasizes not only Nana’s entrepreneurial education, but also proves her competence and strong mentoring skills, which significantly contribute to the formation of entrepreneurial competencies among the country’s youth.
We congratulate Nana on her well-deserved achievement and wish her success!
