On June 11, 2017, “Junior Achievement Georgia” held an “Innovation Camp” event at “St. Andrew the First Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia”. The event was held within the framework of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) project “Supporting Entrepreneurial Education in Eastern Europe” and more than 100 young people aged 15 to 18 from different regions of Georgia took part in it.
Innovation Camp is a 12-hour intensive idea generation event where students gather around a specific business challenge to come up with ideas and solve the problem with effective methods.
During the event, students learned how to develop and formulate ideas under limited time. They had access to the tools, information and resources they needed while working. Also, they had the opportunity to get the necessary information and intensive consultations with experienced mentors invited from different business sectors.
At the end of the day, each group presented a presentation and a business plan, based on which the jury selected the winner.
The members of the winning team were given symbolic gifts, and all participants of the event received a certificate recognized in 123 countries for participating in the “Innovation Camp”.
“Supporting entrepreneurship education in Eastern Europe” is a 3-year international project. It is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and led by JA Worldwide and JA Europe by local JA organizations in four target countries (Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova and Serbia). Junior Achievement National Organizations of European countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia) with experience in teaching entrepreneurship are partnering in the implementation of the program.
The project includes providing practical entrepreneurship education for school students, teacher trainings and experience sharing through various activities to introduce entrepreneurship education in the mentioned countries. The main aspect of the uniqueness of the project is international training in partnership with national Junior Achievement organizations, as well as regular events with the participation of interested parties and countries.
