Promoting entrepreneurship education in Europe and Eurasia

“Entrepreneurial Education Support in Europe and Eurasia” since 2017, is implemented with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), whose goal is to provide young people with the necessary skills and develop competencies to succeed in the global economy. The project is administered by JA Worldwide and implemented by local, national Junior Achievement organizations in the four target countries (Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova and Serbia) and overseen by JA Europe.

The project includes providing practical entrepreneurship education in schools for young people aged 15 to 25, training teachers in entrepreneurship and various related issues, and sharing experiences through various activities that bring together stakeholders to introduce entrepreneurship education in these countries. The main aspect of the uniqueness of the project is international training under the mentorship of national Junior Achievement organizations (Albania, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia), as well as regular events with the participation of interested parties and countries.

Objectives of the project
  • Increasing entrepreneurial education in public and private schools, vocational schools and training centers, with more emphasis on student companies;
  • Evaluating the impact of the program on youth, especially girls, through pre- and post-testing of competencies and tracking of graduates;
  • Providing an opportunity for young people to receive the international “Entrepreneurial Skills Certification (ESP)” certificate;
  • Sustainability and Development of Junior Achievement to expand its activities in the four countries participating in the project.
  • development of partnership relations with the support of the public and private sector;
  • Strengthening and expansion of existing knowledge and experience.
Results of the project
  • Teaching the Junior Achievement Student Company (Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship) program;
  • teacher trainings in the region, which also includes sharing experience among colleagues;
  • Innovation camp for students of the “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship” program, the topic of which will be related to economically growing industries;
  • Student participation in the Entrepreneurship Skill Pass program;
  • registration of alumni members;
  • A regional event including 3 high-level roundtables (business/government/education stakeholders);
  • Summit of Educational Organizations;
  • European Student Companies of the Year event;
  • Bilateral partnership for entrepreneurship education.
