The project took place from February to July 2017, the main goal of which was to create and pilot a training program and methodology in “Agro Cooperation and Entrepreneurship”. The target audience is young people aged 13-18.
The goals of the created training program are – the possibilities of cooperation and the peculiarities of entrepreneurship implemented through cooperation, directions for the establishment and management of an agricultural cooperative, and the main issues of the organization’s functioning.
“Junior Achievement Georgia” has prepared materials that give schoolchildren and young people the opportunity to study the fundamentals of the agricultural field, as well as learn about entrepreneurship. The main goal of the project is to develop and strengthen young people’s ability to accurately solve problems in a specific field.
The experts of “Junior Achievement Georgia” Eka Gegeshidze and Giorgi Chiladze, who participated in the trainings: fundamentals of agrarian cooperative, organizational development assessment tool and business planning, prepared a 12-hour training program (TOT), along with a trainer’s guide and additional materials.
From May 11 to 13, teachers/trainers were trained in Tbilisi. 18 teachers participated in training of trainers. They were selected among the most active and successful teachers in the “Junior Achievement Georgia” base, who also participated in the program in the company of students. The teachers were from five different regions of Georgia: Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. The training was held for 3 days (total duration of 24 hours), during which the teachers studied the prepared material, the methodology of conducting the training for the trainees, the ways of working with the material.
15 teachers from 18 trainees of the training founded a club in their school, where 181 students of different ages, interested in entrepreneurial issues, went through the program.
After the successful implementation of the program, based on teachers’ evaluations and monitoring of the learning process, the materials of the revised program “Agro-cooperation and entrepreneurship” were offered to the Ministry of Education and Science to introduce the program as a free lesson in schools.
